Character Shading Study - CGMA Texturing and Surfacing for Films/Cinematics

This is a project I worked on during my time in the CGMA Surfacing for Films/Cinematics course taught by Chris Nichols. Most of my experience has been in surfacing environments so I took Chris' course to become more comfortable with surfacing characters. I also wanted to become more familiar with Mari since I primarily use Substance Painter for a lot of my work.
I utilized Zbrush to emphasize existing skin details on the model and add information such as pores and fine wrinkles. All texture maps were created in Mari and rendered out with Vray.
